Story
According to legend, St George was a Roman soldier who was born in the third century AD and was condemned to death by the Roman Emperor Diocletian for refusing to give up his Christian faith.
He symbolized courage and strength, the victory of good over evil, and became one of medieval Europe’s greatest legends. By 1348 Edward III made him Britain's patron saint.
The Rocking Horse Crown, George V Silver Jubilee Crown 1935. It was George V who adopted the Windsor name for himself and future royal generations.
