Greek Kassander Horse and Rider Bronze Coin 319-297 BC (066)
Beautiful ancient bronze coin with an image of a high headed, high stepping horse with rider. This coin has a rich, dark green patina that is more reminiscent of stone than bronze.
The back of pendant (obverse side of the coin) is an image of Hercules wearing the Nemean lion skin.
Kassander's father, Antipater, held the regency in Macedon after Alexander the Great died. Kassander declared himself regent of Macedon in 317 BC.
Dated: 319-297 BC
Size: 20mm in a hand fabricated 18kt recycled gold mount. The bail is studded with diamonds (.03 CTW).
