Constantine the Great Commemorative Coin 307-337 AD (064)
Small ancient bronze coin with a rich desert patina. The Emperor Constantine driving a quadriga (4 horse chariot). The hand of God reaches down toward the Emperor Constantine. On the obverse, is the veiled profile of Constantine.
In a historical decision in 312 AD, Constantine decides that his army shall wear a Christian symbol on their shields. He wins the battle of the Milvian Bridge and attributes his success to his alliance with the Christian god. Constantine died in 337 AD.
Dated: 347-348 AD
Size approx 14mm.
